How did we get here?

Remember the time we don't remember about?

Hours lost to a drunken haze,

A drug induced high,

When you thought the Devil had

a halo, and you were the one he cared about.

Through the mist of white clouds,

making patterns, you thought of

your days as a kid, lying in the

grass, when you thought

clouds were made of cotton,

and had all the shapes you knew.

You still find the shapes, the way

you did in the real ones, but

they are no longer made

of cotton, but your body

you keep tearing apart.

as the smoke clears, we can't

remember how we got here.

We smell cheap beer and step over

the pile of clothes we had worn,

it's time to clean the cigarette butts,

so all thoughts come back,

we had walked a step closer

to our death wish tonight.
